Despite the ‘tude I got from the bitchy, I’m too good to talk to you, or willing to break the law because I think you’re a worm, don’t deserve civil rights and not do my job, now that I’m in the Massah’s House former college colleague (Ms. Butts), I have an equal background in Constitutional law and civil rights, not to mention Congressional procedure that equals any staffer in the White House. Not to mention the President’s.
After I left the ACLU DC national legislative office, my first job out of college, after years of pushing the national office in New York, I finally convinced them to start doing videos as part of their outreach and fundraising efforts. This was the reaction from Supreme Court Justice Brennan (heard of him?) on a video I wrote, produced and edited on the importance of the separation of Church and State. It got national media coverage and of course the ACLU sent it to their favorite folks on the Supreme Court. I was 23 at the time. It may not be Harvard Law Review, but I’d say it’s pretty close. Which makes my blow off at the White House even more disgusting.
And of course that little snide saying that they have in academia is rather true. If you can’t do….teach.
Of course, once the ACLU saw these videos worked, they ditched me for a male filmmaker from LA who charged them more for less. These days they are working with Oliver Stone if you look at their website. So much for loyalty to women, even on the so called “left.”
